Press Release: The Center for Knowledge Society announces the launch of Mengospedia:

The Center for Knowledge Society - Mengos has the pleasure to announce the launch of its newest pioneering project in the Middle East, MengosPedia, as part of its ongoing activities to support NGOs/Civil Society in the Middle East.
What is mengospedia?
Mengospedia is an Araibc/English wiki modeled after wikipedia and using open source software, and is designed to help civil society input their own information - y work, activities, research, news, even pictures. The Center for Knowledge Society hopes it would be a resource for information about non-governmental organizations, funding agencies, events, projects, success stories of individuals as well as organizations, and other topics relevant to nongovernmental organizations across the Arab Middle East. This project is not a substitute to mengos.net but is an extension of it to maximize interactivity.
We continue to aim at disseminating information and promoting human rights and development initiatives in the Arab Middle East.
Current info on the wiki:
We have deliberately included only a few basic articles on the wiki to demonstrate how the wiki will work. Please feel free to add and edit any information that is available.
Some main pages are protected, which means they may not be edited. If you wish to comment on the page contents, you may click on 'Discuss' tab at the top of the wiki and begin discussing that page.
Experimental:
Mengospedia is an experimental project. We realize that there are many issues regarding updating and writing to the wiki, but we hope that with enough training and availability of 'cheatsheets', we will facilitate the editing and writing of the project.
Volunteers:
We are looking for volunteers to help edit the wiki and monitor activities to ensure no sabotage or vandalism. If you are interested, please contact us at admin[at]mengos.net
Editing Cheat sheet:
We have made several cheat sheets available under the Help section on the wiki. Before you begin please read the main sheets and print them out. They will help you while editing the wiki.

Security matters:
We realize that a wiki could be vandalized. We have taken as much precautions as we can to ensure this does not happen. Should there be problems, the wiki will be taken down for more security measures. We ask for patience as we make this project more secure and easier to handle.
