world Paris-25-10-2004- The committee
of Lorenzo Natali Prize, which is organized by the European
Commission has issued a call for entries for the 2004
Natali Prize. This year, the prize is open to print
and on-line journalists employed by the local media.
Eligible journalists should have written reports, which
focus on human rights or democracy in the developing
world. Each applicant is allowed to submit ONE article
published in 2003. All prize nominees will be special
guests of the European Commission in Brussels in December
2004. Each prize winner will receive a Trophy and a

Freedom Award each year to a non-governmental organization
or an individual from any country or region of the world,

a speaking tour of Canadian cities to help increase
awareness of the recipient's human rights work. It is
named in honour of the Canadian
John Peters Humphrey, a human rights law professor
who prepared the first draft of the Universal Declaration
